Custom Packaging Buyer FAQ
Answers to 21 common B2B questions on MOQ, samples, lead time, artwork, materials, food-grade compliance, pharma serialization, shipping, payment and RFQ.
1. What is your standard MOQ?
Standard MOQ is 500 PCS per SKU. Some categories (pharma serialized cartons, custom labels) have higher MOQ. Trial runs of 300 PCS available for select folding cartons and pouches on RFQ.
2. Can I order a sample before mass production?
Yes. Paid pre-production samples are available for every custom project. Sample lead time 5–10 working days depending on structure and finishing. Sample cost can be credited against a bulk order for qualified buyers.
3. What is the typical lead time for bulk production?
Standard boxes 500–5,000 PCS: 12–18 working days. Rigid magnetic gift boxes: 18–25 working days. Stand-up pouches: 15–22 working days. Pharma serialized cartons: 20–30 working days.
4. Can I customize the box size?
Yes. All boxes are made to order and support fully custom size. Send box dimensions in mm or inch, target product to be packed, and we will draft a dieline for approval.
5. What materials do you offer?
Greyboard, art paper, ivory board, kraft paper, corrugated board, textured / pearlescent / metallic / cotton specialty paper, food-grade paper (FDA / EU 1935/2004), PET/PE/AL/PLA laminate for pouches, and velvet/cotton/satin/linen for drawstring pouches.
6. Are your food packaging materials food-safe?
Yes. We use FDA-compliant and EU 1935/2004 food-contact certified paper, coating and film for food packaging, coffee bags with valve, restaurant takeaway boxes and grease-resistant liners. Certificates provided on request.
7. Do you make pharmaceutical packaging with serialization?
Yes. We produce pharma cartons with GS1 DataMatrix serialization, tamper-evident structure, batch/lot code printing and medical aesthetic packaging for pre-filled syringes, injections and finished medical products.
8. What artwork format do you accept?
AI, PDF (X-1a or X-4), CDR, PSD. Files should have 3 mm bleed, CMYK color mode, outlined fonts, 300 dpi raster images and separate spot color layers for foil / embossing / spot UV. See our Artwork Guidelines page.
9. Can you match a specific Pantone color?
Yes. We match any Pantone Solid Coated color for offset printing and provide a color proof on the actual material and coating before bulk production.
10. What foil colors are available?
Gold, silver, rose gold, copper, red, blue, green, black and holographic. Custom foil colors available on RFQ.
11. Do you provide dieline drafting?
Yes. We draft the dieline for every custom project based on your product dimensions, weight, closure type and shipping requirement. Dieline PDF is included in the sample cost.
12. How do you ship worldwide?
Sea freight (best above 3 CBM), air freight (best 50–300 kg urgent) and express DHL/FedEx/UPS (best for samples). FOB Shenzhen / Yantian / Ningbo, CIF, DAP and DDP trade terms supported. See Shipping & Packing.
13. What are your payment terms?
For new buyers: 50% T/T deposit, 50% balance before shipment. Repeat buyers and large orders: 30% deposit, 70% against BL copy. L/C at sight and Alibaba Trade Assurance also accepted on RFQ.
14. Do you accept small trial orders?
For qualified brand-owner buyers we can offer 300 PCS trial runs on selected folding cartons, mailer boxes and pouches. Trial pricing per unit is higher than 500 PCS. State trial request in your RFQ. See MOQ Policy.
15. Can you print variable data or serial numbers?
Yes. Digital print (HP Indigo) supports variable data, sequential numbering, GS1 DataMatrix serialization and per-unit personalization for pharma, medical aesthetic and premium retail packaging.
16. Do you provide OEM and ODM?
Yes. OEM (buyer supplies artwork and specification) and ODM (we design based on buyer brief) are both supported end-to-end from concept, dieline, sample to mass production.
17. Do you accept third-party inspection?
Yes. We welcome buyer-appointed SGS, BV, Intertek or TÜV inspection at origin. In-house pre-shipment photo and video audit report is included in every order at no extra cost. See Quality Control.
18. Can you print my brand logo on the tissue paper and pouch too?
Yes. Tissue paper supports repeated custom logo pattern printing (single or multi-color). Drawstring pouches support custom printed or foil-stamped logo on velvet, cotton, satin, linen and microfiber materials.
19. What magnetic closure strength do you use?
We use neodymium magnets in grades N35 to N52 depending on product weight and closure force needed. Standard strength for gift boxes uses 8×2 mm N35 magnets; heavier products use larger and higher-grade magnets.
20. Do you provide a certificate of origin and other export paperwork?
Yes. Commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin, FSC certificate (for FSC-paper orders), FDA/EU 1935/2004 food-grade certificate, ISO 9001 certificate, MSDS and REACH declaration all available on request.
